The international military competition GRENADIER is organised in cooperationbetween Waffenkreis Infanterie / Vienna Officers Association and HQ Bn 7 / 7thInfBrig.The competition demands a high standard of military knowledge and proficiency as well as flexibility, teamwork and the ability to cope with pressure from all participants.Due to the instructions and training during GRENADIER, the competition will lead to effects of high motivation and experience to the participants.In the course of the competition the teams will get instruction on Austrian infantry-weaponsand equipment and have to prove the acquired knowledge during the whole week.As every year there will be an alpine march to give the participants the opportunityto gain the ”Edelweiß–badge” of the Austrian alpine infantry (Gebirgsjäger).
Live-fire-exercises with various weapons of the Austrian armed forces are made foranother major focal point during competition, furthermore there will bewritten tests on theoretical skills. Languages of command will be English and German. Host of GRENADIER 2010 and alliance partner of Waffenkreis Infanterie/OGW is the HQ Bn 7 of the 7th Inf.Brig. and additionally numerous partners and members of theAustrian armed forces are giving their support.
